Context

The work we did on HICO-groups website redesign reflects our commitment to delivering user-centred digital experiences that align with business objectives. The project focused on transforming HICO’s online presence to clearly communicate its expertise across the entire data lifecycle. The goal was to create an intuitive, modern platform that simplifies navigation, highlights HICO’s advanced AI and data solutions, and guides users toward informed decision-making.


What We Did

Through in-depth research, we examined HICO’s audience needs, industry standards, and service offerings. This informed a new website structure designed to minimise clicks and improve the user journey. We developed a clear, professional interface featuring interactive elements, dynamic forms, and dedicated sections for HICO’s competencies and industry-specific solutions. The result is a user-friendly, authoritative digital platform that positions HICO as The Intelligence Powerhouse, empowering organisations to drive data-led decisions confidently.

User Experience (UX)

In the UX phase of our collaboration with HICO, we focused on designing a user-centric platform that simplifies complex data solutions and empowers decision-making. Our goal was to create a clear and intuitive experience that enables users, from business leaders to technical teams, to navigate HICO’s expertise with ease.

We mapped out user flows to guide visitors through key touch points, from understanding HICO’s seven competencies to exploring tailored solutions and case studies. This approach ensures that users can quickly find the information they need while gaining a comprehensive view of HICO’s data-driven capabilities.

Special attention was given to the 'For Who' and 'How We Work' sections, making it easy for diverse industries to identify relevant solutions and understand HICO’s unique methodology. Through iterative testing and refinement, we optimised the user journey to minimise friction and deliver a seamless path from initial engagement to conversion.

By combining user research with strategic design, we ensured that HICO’s platform not only communicates expertise but also empowers users to make informed decisions confidently and efficiently.

User Interface (UI)

During the UI phase of the HICO project, we designed a visually cohesive and professional interface that reflects HICO’s position as a leader in data consultancy. Our approach combined modern aesthetics with functional clarity to showcase HICO’s expertise while ensuring ease of use across all touch points.

We crafted a clean, accessible design system that enhances navigation and reinforces HICO’s identity as 'The Intelligence Powerhouse.' Each section—whether exploring HICO’s competencies or engaging with dynamic case studies—was designed to present complex information in a digestible and visually compelling format.

For the competency pages, we introduced structured layouts that clearly outline solutions, use cases, and benefits. Interactive features, like dynamic forms and tailored service explorers, guide users through HICO’s offerings while maintaining a seamless, responsive experience across devices.

Our design prioritised clarity, responsiveness, and accessibility, ensuring the platform meets the needs of a global audience. This thoughtful approach to UI enhances user engagement while supporting HICO’s mission to drive data-led decision-making across industries.

Our Challenge

Custom frontend developed without frameworks for Odoo compatibility

HICO Group, a leading AI and data consultancy, required a captivating new website to reflect their "Intelligence Powerhouse" status.

The primary challenge lay in developing the entire frontend using raw HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript, with the strict requirement that all code be compatible with Odoo for seamless integration by their technical team. This meant adapting to Odoo’s specific needs and limitations, particularly its difficulties with many JavaScript libraries and those using TypeScript, necessitating innovative workarounds.

Furthermore, the project’s design was exceptionally intricate, featuring numerous unique shapes, background elements, irregularly placed borders, circles, complex sections, and animations. This sophisticated design language demanded meticulous attention to detail and significantly increased development complexity, pushing the boundaries of standard frontend development practices within a restricted technological environment.


Our Solution

Odoo-Aligned Frontend Built with Precision and Flexibility

To overcome the Odoo integration challenge, we adopted a flexible coding style, moving away from familiar frameworks such as Laravel Blade and pure React. We proactively learned the intricacies of the Odoo environment, structuring our HTML sections to simplify their conversion into Odoo XML snippets. This involved consciously avoiding problematic libraries and TypeScript-dependent animations.

Despite the design’s complexity extending the initial development timeline by 20%, we remained committed to the original deadline, investing the additional time at no extra cost to HICO Group. Regular bi-weekly meetings ensured transparent communication, keeping the client consistently updated on progress.

This collaborative and adaptive approach, coupled with our dedication to overcoming technical hurdles, resulted in a final product that exceeded client expectations and successfully launched their envisioned digital presence.
