Hive’s ambition was to launch a sophisticated, multi-faceted platform catering to four distinct user groups: customers, video editors, companies, and administrators. This inherently introduced significant complexity from both a design and development standpoint.

This included designing clear and actionable dashboards with charts and widgets for editors to track earnings and video performance, and simplifying the user flow for a highly complex payout and subscription system.
From a development perspective, this required a robust, scalable architecture to handle these diverse needs, alongside a comprehensive admin panel for meticulous oversight of all platform activities, from user management to financial transactions and content moderation.
Our integrated design and development approach was pivotal in navigating Hive's complexities. The design process began with in-depth user journey mapping for each of the four user roles, ensuring every interaction was intuitive and aligned with their specific needs. This led to the creation of detailed wireframes and high-fidelity UI mockups that translated the platform's 'bold yet approachable' aesthetic into a functional and visually engaging experience.
Development then brought these designs to life with pixel-perfect precision. We engineered a robust database and a flexible backend architecture to seamlessly manage the distinct user functionalities, complex subscription models, and the critical payout system, including secure Paystack webhook integrations. Advanced features like on-the-fly video compression for faster previews (with access to original quality downloads post-purchase) were implemented to enhance user experience without sacrificing quality. Rigorous documentation, a structured codebase, and extensive testing with seeded data ensured collaborative efficiency and a polished final product, while continuous client communication allowed us to refine the sophisticated systems to be scalable and adaptable to future needs.
